.... Sarah Jarosz

Having just released her sophomore album and still only 20 years old, Sarah Jarosz is the new darling of Americana and bluegrass. Born in Texas in 1991, she began playing the mandolin at the age of 10 and first emerged as one to watch when she appeared on stage with the likes of Ricky Skaggs as a teenager. Her first album Song Up in Her Head was released in 2009 and instantly caught the attention of the bluegrass community and was described by Rolling Stone magazine as " impressive ". In the same year as the album's release she also started attending the Conservatory of Music.

Her follow up album " Follow Me Down " was recorded after Jarosz had finished her first year at college. As with her debut, it was co-produced with Gary Paczosa who has an impressive track record having worked with such artists as Alison Krauss and John Prine. The album is a step forward, the song writing more complex and the instrumentation more adventurous. American Songwriter magazine described it as; " invitation. Sarah Jarosz invites us along with her into a growing sonic space of collaboration and artistry at this the second step in what will surely be a long and productive musical journey."

Sarah Jarosz will be undertaking a UK tour in July and her album Follow Me Down is out now on Sugar Hill Records.
